Negative Thinking/ Ruminating
Sometimes we say we are feeling frustrated or apathetic, rather than saying that we feel sad, vulnerable, powerless, ashamed or insecure. And whilst everyone feels ‘down' occasionally, if you've been moody, angry, unable to sleep, or concentrate, for more than a couple of weeks, it could be depression. Anger is a common symptom of depression.

Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP)
At Ghita Therapy, counselling, Neuro Linguistic Programming and Time Line Therapy are widely used for depression in clients. We look at a client's filters, schemas and judgements which cause the depression. Other methods: CBT, Gestalt Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Hypnotherapy.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT):
At the heart of cognitive therapy is the idea that our thoughts can affect our emotions. For example, if we choose to look for the silver lining in every experience, we will be more likely to feel good than if we only focus on the negative. Cognitive therapy helps patients to learn to identify common patterns of negative thinking, called cognitive distortions and to turn those negative thought patterns into more positive ones, thus improving the patient's mood.
