Welcome to Ghita Therapy
Everyday people (Doctors, Tradespeople, Parents, Teenagers), turn to counselling when they need support, or are at a crossroads in their lives. People who come to counselling are often ready to change and grow, and just need a little guidance and someone to talk to. In fact, one in three Gold Coast adults have reached out to a mental health professional in the last few years.
Counselling provides the chance to talk things through, very often relieving emotional pressure, clearing the way for people to focus and decide what to do next. Counselling can provide a sense of direction and a greater ability to achieve goals. Just like you seek advice from a doctor for health issues, a counsellor can help to give you tools for better decision making and improved mental health.
Let's Refill Your Cup
Certainly, our lives have changed in sudden and surprising ways in the last three years; suddenly, we’re working from home, spending more time with our spouses and families, yet so many of us feel isolated and alone.
In this modern age, it is easy to neglect self care like you are pouring from an empty cup. If you are constantly juggling work, kids, family, finances, and more, you’ll quickly end up burnt out – with less in your emotional cup. An empty cup means your ability to care for others will be non-existent when you don’t even have the time or energy to care for yourself. Sound familiar?
Usually, our default mindset is: “Well, I’m coping right now, I can just get through the day and deal with it later.” But so often we put it off again, and again, and again, until one day we reach for our cup and find that it is completely empty. We ask ourselves, “How did it get this bad?”, and we wonder why we didn’t do anything about it sooner.
So, now is your chance to fill you cup up, to prioritise yourself and “make” the time to sort through some things you have been putting off. To take control of your happiness and to be heard by someone who won't judge you.

Appointment Information:
Based on your unique needs, your counsellor will provide a practical and supportive approach to explore what is causing you to feel unhappy. Some clients only need to express themselves as a sounding board to clarify their situation, whilst others need to accept deeper issues. Furthermore, as you work together, you will learn new coping strategies, gain awareness of your strengths, and discover what you need to create a happier, more balanced and fulfilling life.
How Many Appointments Will I Need?
The first appointment is primarily focussed on understanding what is happening for you and determining how we may be of assistance. On average you can expect to see positive outcomes within 3-6 sessions, with appointments generally 2 weeks apart on average at first, then tapering in frequency depending on needs. More complex issues may require a longer time frame. We advise booking 1-2 follow-up appointments in advance to ensure optimal treatment is accessible should you choose to utilise it.
How Do I Prepare For My First Counselling Session?
It can be helpful to make some notes about the things that are troubling you and bring them to your appointment. If you have a GP referral letter for an individual concession rate – bring that to your session. You may also like to save time and fill out the online intake form. A link will be sent to you after you book your appointment.
In your first intake session, your counsellor will be looking forward to meeting you and getting to know who you are and what you want out of your time in therapy. Your counsellor will look at your intake form for things like family background, mental health history and general situation. From there, they will work with you to create clear goals around what you’ll work on together in your sessions.

NLP and Time Line Therapy
DO YOU HAVE SOME BELIEFS THAT TRIP YOU UP? These can become automatic filters and emotional triggers.
You’ve heard the term living on autopilot, right? To someone trained in NLP, this would mean that you are living according to your programming, which consists of habitual thoughts, which create triggers, emotional reactions and beliefs. Events in life are about Cause and Effect. If you believe you are responsible for the events and decisions in your life, things go easier. If you believe that things are done to you and you are not responsible for your choices, things are more difficult.
What is NLP?
Popular in the 70s and 80s, Neuro-Linguistic Programming / Psychology (NLP) is a method that has been successfully used to treat fears and phobias, anxiety, poor self-esteem, negative memories, grievances, stress, post-traumatic stress disorder, and more. Although one could say that NLP was heavily influenced by hypnosis, it stands on its own in terms of results.
Our NLP Practitioner Ghita Andersen (Tad James Company trained practitioner) will work to reveal a person’s 'map' of unproductive patterns that make them feel stuck, and then write a new map that replaces those with empowering habits and effective strategies. NLP works where many other counselling modalities fail - especially for traumas and PTSD.
Exceptional Results For PTSD:
NLP can change a person's self-talk (linguistics). As they say, what you talk about - you get more of. If your internal (monkey chatter) and external dialogue is negative, or you project your filters onto the behaviour of others, it can ruin relationships, jobs, opportunities and a great life. For business development, NLP can enhance sales skills, leadership, financial results, communication and overall influence.
"Stanford University Found that Treating Depression with NLP Had Better Results Than Traditional Psychotherapy."
★★★★★ Text Testimonial: NLP (Submodalities):
'Hi Ghita, I was originally referred to you by a friend of mine (D.C.) who said you were absolutely amazing at NLP and she was right. You have changed my life.' - Api (Pacific Pines)
Time Line Therapy® (TLT) is a powerful type of regression therapy developed by Dr. Tad James, that combines NLP with Hawaiian Huna. Interestingly, Ghita Andersen's TLT technique is more trance immersive than a Life Coach's method might be. Ghita is trained in Time Line and Hypnotherapy by the original Tad James Company (USA) and she is an intuitive, so her time line regression process is much longer and trance-like. If you have ever tried Time Line Therapy® with another practitioner, you may find this method very different. You may even go back to a previous lifetime.
How Does TLT Work?
Time Line Therapy® is based on the concept that our unconscious mind stores memories in a linear pattern (like a timeline). Simply put, this timeline is a mental photo album of our current life, and of previous lives. Intrigued?
A Time Line Therapy® session may involve going through emotions methodically (anger, sadness, fear, and guilt) to help clear the emotional background noise. Time Line Therapy® provides powerful processes and techniques for personal change and growth by helping the client remove any of the painful emotions attached to a particular memory or event - over life times. Furthermore, it works to release emotions that still cause stress in the adult mind and body.
