Counselling Sessions
Most clients book in for an hour unless it is a specialised method that requires longer. We recommend that you save time in your session by filling out the Intake Form prior and either bring it with you or email it through to us.
What is Availability Like?
At Ghita Therapy we can usually fit you in within a few days to a week. Importantly, because we work from home rather than a clinic, we are more flexible and AFTER-HOURS appointments are available. How Many Counselling Sessions Will I Need?
The first appointment is primarily focussed on telling your story and rapport building. We will assess what is happening for you and create a strategy for treatment. The total number of sessions required will naturally depend on the nature of your concerns. As a rule of thumb, meaningful life changes and genuine progress don’t occur within one 60-minute session, so consider how counselling can help you long-term - perhaps releasing old traumas and patterns of behaviour.
Subsequently, many people are often able to resolve their concerns, or make significant progress, in 4-6 appointments or less. However, more complex issues may require a longer time frame. Forming a positive relationship with your therapist, feeling ready to make the changes in your life and being honest with your counsellor, will go a long way to getting what you need out of your sessions.
Face to Face, Phone or Video Counselling Appointments
Naturally, during the last two years many clients have found counselling online helpful and convenient, especially for those living just over the border. At Ghita Therapy we offer phone counselling and online video sessions via Apps such as Whatsapp, Messenger and Skype. The fees are the same.
Client Base:
At Ghita Therapy we have counselling clients from across Australia, although most of our counselling clients come from the Gold Coast, between Brisbane and Kingscliff. Convenient (face to face) client zones are within 10 kilometres: Currumbin, Palm Beach, Tugan, Coolangatta, Tweed Heads, Elanora, Burleigh Heads, Robina, Varsity Lakes, Reedy Creek, Miami, Tallebudgera, Mudgeeraba and Broadbeach.
What Will Happen in the First Session?
In your first intake session, your counsellor will be looking forward to meeting you and getting to know who you are and what you want out of your time in therapy. They will look at your intake form for things like family background, mental health history and general situation. From there, they will work with you to create clear goals around what you’ll work on together in your sessions.
How Do I Prepare for My First Counselling Session?
There is no need to prepare anything specific unless you would like to fill out the intake form before your appointment. If you have a GP referral letter for individual counselling – bring that to your session. It can however, be helpful to make some notes about the things troubling you or any goals for improvement (in your relationships, work or self-esteem etc), these are great points to bring to your first appointment - as well as any clear obstacles or barriers you know of that are making life more difficult. It also saves time if you fill out the intake form and bring it with you. Intake Form

How To Book
ONLINE BOOKINGS: Please note that if you book on the portal you will need your Credit Card to secure the session. The full amount will be held to confirm your attendance and secure the time. You can change your booking up until 24 hours before and you can book 12 hours in advance. BOOK NOW
PHONE BOOKINGS: If you wish to book over the phone, we accept payments via Paypal, Banking Deposit or Credit Card. All payments must be cleared and received 24 hours before the appointment and we ask that you send through a Receipt or Screenshot of your payment to 0439888070. Your 24 hour reminder SMS will have the links for payment if you haven't already given your details over the phone.

- Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) is a method that has been successfully used to treat fears and phobias, anxiety, poor self-esteem, negative memories, grievances, stress, post-traumatic stress disorder, and more. Although one could say that NLP was heavily influenced by hypnosis, it stands on its own in terms of results.
- Time Line Therapy® (TLT) is a type of Regression Therapy developed by Dr. Tad James, that combines NLP with Hawaiian Huna. It is basically like a session of guided visualisation, but it is powerful. It works to release childhood negative emotions and events that cause stress in the adult mind and body.
