Ghita took me on a journey to self-discovery and has helped me become at peace with decisions I made for myself and those whom I love. I found the Timeline Therapy very helpful for my situation. - Vinenzo T (GC)
The 5 Stages of Grief
Loss is a fact of life, and so are the reactions that follow, but the grief that accompanies significant loss is frequently misunderstood because not everyone acts the same after loss. The grief you feel for the loss of a loved one is as unique as you are. Sometimes, it feels like too much of a burden to talk over feelings and fears with our families, because they have to deal with their own feelings and fears. This is when an intuitive counsellor can help by listening, validating and understanding.
The Healing of Grief is Not Linear
The five stages of grief are denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance, however they are not always in order. As we learn to live with the one we lost, we use certain tools to help us frame and identify what we may be feeling. But they are not stops on some linear timeline in grief. Not everyone goes through all of them or in a prescribed order. At times, people in grief will often report more stages.
