What is Time Line Therapy®?

WHAT IS TIME LINE THERAPY®?
Time Line Therapy® (TLT) is a type of Regression Therapy developed by Dr. Tad James, that combines NLP with Hawaiian Huna. It is basically like a session of guided visualisation or light trance, but it is powerful. It works to release childhood negative emotions and events that cause stress in the adult mind and body.
A Time Line Therapy® session may involve going through emotions methodically (anger, sadness, fear, and guilt) to help clear the emotional background noise. It also eliminates self-limiting beliefs that hinder a person from pursuing the life that they want.
HOW IT WORKS
This technique is so powerful, some clients cannot even remember WHY they felt so upset at the beginning of the session when they first arrived, before doing the process. This is why Time Line Therapy® remains the most popular technique in modern neurolinguistic programming (NLP).
In Time Line Therapy®, we go back to the moment an emotion was born within you. Rather than reliving old hurts and traumas, we stay distant from the memory using powerful imagery. To start, we visualise a line stretching back through through your current life, and your previous lives. Sometimes, past lives are a metaphor for the way the subconscious brain stores information and data.
From this place of safety and distance, we can heal and release the 'stuck' emotion, and replace it with new learnings and wisdom. When the original root cause is healed in the past, the You living in the present can move on. Hoorah!

RELEASING NEGATIVE EMOTIONS FROM EVENTS
It is often not an old memory of an event that is the problem, it is often the emotion attached to the event.
Negative emotions get in the way of one's work, relationships, health and life etc. Taking away the negative emotions attached to past events changes a person's behaviour and perspective on life.

Time Line Therapy® does not delete events from a person’s memory, only the negative emotions attached to these. After undergoing a TLT session, a person will still remember past events in their life, but no longer wallow in sadness, anger, fear or other emotions that were previously associated with those events. It removes the feelings and trauma.

According to a 2009 clinical trial, Timeline Therapy™ was found to be more effective than Hypnotherapy or other methods of Neuro-Linguistic Programming in 64 participants for acute stress. At Ghita Therapy TLT has a 95% success rate for removing limiting beliefs, or deleting negative emotions attached to events, in clients who can picture images in their minds.
How Long Does it Take?
A Time Line Therapy session at our Currumbin therapy room (Gold Coast) is two hours long if you are aware of what emotion it is that you want to change. If you are not sure what it is that needs to change, you may require a counselling session beforehand for the counsellor to understand your story.
